  • 3 pounds Sweet Potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Pecans or Walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Peel and cube the sweet potatoes into 1-inch pieces.
  • Parboil the sweet potatoes for 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain the sweet potatoes and transfer them to a baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
  • Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour the glaze over the sweet potatoes, tossing to coat evenly.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and the glaze is caramelized, basting with the glaze every 10 minutes.
  • If using, sprinkle with pecans or walnuts during the last 10 minutes of baking.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
