Creamy chicken pasta recipe White cheddar garlic Cajun flavors

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 pound dried pasta (penne, rotini, or farfalle)
  • 8 ounces sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2-3 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Season generously with salt, pepper, and a portion of the Cajun seasoning (about 1 tablespoon).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear until cooked through and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add butter to the same skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Add the remaining Cajun seasoning (to taste) and white cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  • Add the cooked chicken and pasta to the creamy sauce. Toss to coat evenly. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately and enjoy!
