Crockpot cheesy chicken recipe BBQ Monterey chicken easy dinner

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (drained) – optional
  • 1 diced onion – optional
  • 1 minced garlic clove – optional
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce – optional

Instructions

  • Place the chicken breasts and BBQ sauce in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on low heat for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is easily shreddable.
  • Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks.
  • Stir half of the shredded cheese into the chicken and BBQ sauce mixture.
  • Top with the remaining cheese and let it melt.
  • Serve on slider buns, over mashed potatoes, in tacos, or on top of a salad.
