Easy Gluten Free gravy recipe Make with or without drippings Delicious GF gravy

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup Gluten-Free Flour Blend (rice flour, tapioca starch, and potato starch)
  • 2 tablespoons Fat (Drippings or Butter/Oil)
  • 2 cups Broth (Chicken, Vegetable, or Beef)
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Aminos or Soy Sauce (Tamari for gluten-free)
  • To taste Salt and Pepper
  • Optional: A sprig of fresh thyme or rosemary, a bay leaf, garlic powder, onion powder, or a splash of gluten-free Worcestershire sauce.

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, melt the fat over medium heat. Whisk in the gluten-free flour blend and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to create a roux.
  • Gradually add the broth, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Add the liquid aminos or tamari, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  • If using optional herbs or spices, add them now. Simmer gently for 5-7 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened to your desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Strain the gravy through a fine-mesh sieve for an ultra-smooth texture (optional).
  • Serve hot over your favorite dishes.
