3 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of unsalted butter
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of anise extract
Zest of 1 lemon
1/4 cup of milk
1 cup of confectioners’ sugar
Colored sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.
In another bowl, cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla extract, anise extract, and lemon zest.
Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with milk, mix until a dough forms.
Chill dough for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Roll dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.
Let cookies cool completely before glazing.
For glaze, mix confectioners’ sugar with a bit of milk until smooth. Dip each cookie top, add sprinkles if desired.
