  • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian seasoned)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup ketchup, plus extra for glaze
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan.
  • Spread extra ketchup on top of the meatloaf as a glaze.
  • Optionally, place the loaf pan inside a larger baking dish filled with about an inch of hot water (water bath).
  • Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Let the meatloaf rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
