Quick, creamy, ground beef pasta recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces (800 grams) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) short pasta (like penne, rotini, or orecchiette)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for garlic bread)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (for garlic bread)
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for garlic bread)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garlic bread)
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (for garlic bread)
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper (for garlic bread)

Instructions

  • Grab a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven and place it over medium-high heat. Add your ground beef to the pot, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until beautifully browned all over, with no pink remaining. Once cooked, drain off any excess fat from the pot. Reduce the heat to medium and add your diced onion to the same pot. Sauté the onion for about 3-5 minutes, until it softens and becomes translucent. Add the minced garlic to the pot and cook for just another minute until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn. Stir in the Italian seasoning, a pinch of red pepper flakes (if using!), and some salt and black pepper; let these spices toast for about 30 seconds to really bloom their flavors.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth, stirring well to combine everything and scrape up any delicious browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Bring this mixture to a gentle simmer. Once simmering, carefully add your uncooked pasta to the pot, making sure it’s mostly submerged in the liquid. Give it a good stir to prevent it from sticking together. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low, allowing the pasta to cook gently, absorbing all those wonderful flavors. You’ll need to cook it for about 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente. Make sure to stir occasionally, every 2-3 minutes, to prevent the pasta from clumping and sticking to the bottom of the pot. Keep an eye on it and taste test a piece of pasta to ensure it’s perfectly cooked – tender but with a slight bite.
  • Once the pasta is cooked, remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream and a generous handful of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Stir gently until the cheese has melted and the sauce is lusciously smooth and creamy. The heat from the pasta and sauce will be enough to melt the cheese beautifully. Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed; you might want a little more salt, pepper, or another pinch of Italian seasoning. Garnish generously with fresh chopped parsley, which adds a wonderful burst of color and freshness. Serve immediately, while it’s warm and wonderfully comforting.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, combine softened unsalted butter with finely minced garlic, a generous sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped fresh parsley. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste. Mix these ingredients together until thoroughly combined and spreadable. Take your loaf of French bread and slice it horizontally almost all the way through, creating thick slices that are still connected at the bottom. Spread the garlic butter liberally on both sides of each slice. Wrap the loaf loosely in foil, place it on a baking sheet, and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until warmed through and fragrant. For a crispier, golden top, open the foil for the last 3-5 minutes of baking.
  • Serve the One Pot Creamy Ground Beef Pasta immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and fresh parsley. Enjoy it with the warm, creamy garlic bread on the side.
