Ingredients

  • 2 cups high-quality semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes
  • 1 cup hot cocoa mix
  • 3/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 8 peppermint candies, crushed
  • Additional crushed candy canes for garnish

Instructions

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped chocolate and heavy cream.
  • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  • Stir in the peppermint extract and crushed candy canes.
  • Using a spoon, coat the cavities of a semi-sphere silicone mold with the chocolate mixture, ensuring the chocolate covers the entire surface.
  • Chill the mold in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until the chocolate sets.
  • Remove the chocolate shells from the mold and fill half of them with hot cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, and crushed peppermint candies.
  • Warm a plate in the microwave and gently press the empty chocolate shells onto the plate to melt the edges.
  • Place the melted edges of the empty shells onto the filled shells to seal the truffle bombs.
  • Decorate the truffle bombs with additional crushed candy canes.
  • When ready to enjoy, place a truffle bomb in a mug and pour over hot milk.
