Pumpkin spice donuts recipe Baked donuts Fall flavors

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (for glaze)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, pumpkin puree, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off.
  • Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the donuts spring back when gently pressed.
  • Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.
  • Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and place them back on the wire rack to allow the glaze to set.
  • Optionally, sprinkle with additional pumpkin pie spice or other toppings.
