Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (or beef/pork blend)
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (14-ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Roll the meat mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides.
  • In a separate saucepan, combine cranberry sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Add the browned meatballs to the cranberry sauce mixture. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness or tanginess of the sauce as needed. Serve warm.
