Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons Festive sprinkles
  • 3 tablespoons Red candy melts (optional)
  • Green sanding sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes.
  2. Place the unwrapped cakes in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the cakes together with a handheld mixer until a crumbly dough forms.
  4. Mix in the 3 tablespoons of Festive sprinkles into the cake dough.
  5. Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the dough.
  6. Roll each scooped portion in between the palm of your hand to form a ball.
  7. Place the rolled cake balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Repeat this process until all the dough is used.
  9. Melt the 8 ounces of white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave or by using a double boiler.
  10. Using a fork or a dipping tool, dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate.
  11. Coat the cake ball completely with white chocolate.
  12. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off the truffle.
  13. Place the coated truffle back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  14. Melt the 3 tablespoons of red candy melts in a piping bag or a Ziploc bag in the microwave in 30-second increments.
  15. Massage the bag in between each heating interval to ensure the red candy melts are fully melted.
  16. Snip a small edge off the Ziploc bag or piping bag.
  17. Drizzle the melted red candy melts onto the truffles.
  18. Top the truffles with green sanding sugar for decoration.
  19. Allow the truffles to set in the fridge for a few minutes.
  20. Enjoy your Christmas Tree Cake Truffles!

Notes

Chill the rolled truffles for 15-20 minutes before dipping for best results.
Use a deep, narrow bowl for melting chocolate to make dipping easier.
When drizzling, a tiny snip on the piping bag corner gives better control.
Don’t overheat the chocolate; melt in short intervals and stir frequently.
Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
