A vibrant and festive Layered Christmas Jello dessert with fruity, creamy layers that’s perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (3 ounces) lime jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/3 cup pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons ice cold water
  • 8 ounces sour cream, chilled
  • 1/3 cup whole milk, chilled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 boxes (3 ounces each) cherry jello (or strawberry, raspberry, or cranberry)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 can (14 ounce) whole-berry cranberry sauce, chilled
  • pipped whipped cream
  • lime zest

Instructions

  1. Coat a deep 11×7-inch glass dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, dissolve lime jello in 1 cup boiling water.
  3. Stir in the 1/3 cup chilled pineapple juice.
  4. Carefully pour the lime jello mixture into the prepared dish.
  5. Transfer the dish to the fridge for 45-60 minutes, until set but not completely firm.
  6. In a small pot, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 3 tablespoons ice cold water.
  7. Let the gelatin stand for 1 minute.
  8. Heat the pot over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin dissolves.
  9. Transfer the dissolved gelatin to a bowl.
  10. Add the chilled sour cream, chilled whole milk, and vanilla to the bowl.
  11. Whisk until the mixture is combined and smooth.
  12. Carefully spread the sour cream mixture over the lime layer.
  13. Place the dish back in the fridge for another 45-60 minutes.
  14. In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve cherry jello in 2 cups boiling water.
  15. Stir in the chilled whole-berry cranberry sauce.
  16. Carefully spoon the cherry jello mixture over the sour cream layer.
  17. Transfer the dish to the fridge until completely set, at least 4 hours.
  18. Cut the jello into squares.
  19. Serve with fresh piped whipped cream and a sprinkle of lime zest.

Notes

Ensure all chilled ingredients are very cold before use to help layers set faster.
Pour new layers over the back of a spoon to prevent mixing with the layer below.
Don’t rush the chilling times between layers for clean, distinct lines.
For the cleanest cuts, dip your knife in hot water and wipe it dry between each slice.
