These buttery, melt-in-your-mouth snowball cookies are incredibly easy to make and perfect for any occasion, especially the holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups softened butter (salted or unsalted)
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2-1 cup sprinkles in colors of your choice (optional)
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Beat softened butter and powdered sugar with a mixer until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and mix well until combined.
  4. Add salt and all-purpose flour to the mixture.
  5. Mix until all ingredients are well combined and a thick dough forms.
  6. Mix in white chocolate chips.
  7. If using, mix in sprinkles and/or mini chocolate chips.
  8. Using a small cookie scoop, drop cookie dough onto cookie sheets.
  9. Ensure about 2 inches of space between each cookie on the sheet.
  10. Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just starting to lightly brown.
  11. Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for at least 10 minutes.
  12. If desired, dust the cooled cookies with additional powdered sugar.
  13. Store cookies in airtight containers at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure butter is properly softened, not melted, for the best texture.
Do not overmix the flour to keep cookies tender.
Bake until just lightly browned; overbaking can make them dry.
Cool cookies completely on the baking sheet before handling to prevent breakage.
